My son just joined Cub Scouts and just went on our first Campout last weekend. I did a test run in the backyard which was very the best idea I had as you will hear. Instructions are horrible but I figured it out. As soon as we arrived at the campout I immediately setup the tent and it started to rain before I even had the guylines fastened. I don't want to think what would have happened if I hadn't done a test run. That night we encountered high winds & torrential rain. The next morning some families had left, others were sleeping in their cars, others were dealing with wet gear. We were the only family that had no water period! It pays to spend the money for quality. We had a queen & a single mattress side by side and it left tons of room for gear. Great height! I'm a older & bigger guy so it's nice to stand up and get dressed. Thanks Kelty!!!! Arlan on Sep 26th 2016
I have always been a back country camper so this monster was a new experience for me. It is very spacious, fairly easy to set up and makes for a fabulous car camping tent. Unknown on Jun 20th 2016
The rain fly ripped the first time tent was pitched. Great design but poor execution and poor rain fly quality. KG on Jun 2nd 2016
This year my wife and I were looking for a car camping tent. Last year we picked up the TN2 for backpacking and absolutely loved it. When I saw that the Trail Ridge has the same type of design as the TN2 I quickly fell in love with it. We took our tent for it's first outting in Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. Setup was extremely easy. I have setup 8 person tents before and felt like I needed an engineer with me, but this tent was so easy and could have been put up with one person, even easier with two people. We were greeted with torrential rain on our first night. The rain and thunder was loud, but we were completely dry! Even the vestibules were dry. The tent held up perfectly. The second night we traded the rain for strong winds. Once again this tent held up perfectly. This tent is massive! It allows us to completely stand up and walk around, my wife even jumped around and did not hit her head on the top. The star gazing fly is amazing! You can be in a tent and have a sense of privacy, but still take in the amazing views. This tent and the TN2 have spoiled me. My wife and I can't say enough good things about this tent!
