    1. Great for car camping

I was tired of using backpacking tents for car camping and not being able to stand up inside. This tent is a great size and easily accommodates a standing adult. Setup is incredibly easy. Only used once so far but no issues with weather worthiness. Very wind resistant. on Jul 1st 2017

    2. I recommend the Trail Ridge 6

My wife and I have retired and head to Florida every winter but RV life doesn't suit us so we spend the month of January paddling Everglades National Park. Camping sites are few and far between and involve beaches, ground sites and "chickees", which are roofed 10x12 wooden platforms.
The advantage of the rain fly design became apparent on our very first day. The bugs were too thick near the trees so we were forced to camp on the beach. We set up the tent with the back toward the hot sun and used the rain fly as shade. At 4am the skies opened up and it poured. It took only seconds to unclip the rain fly and pull the front of it down. A few hours later it rained again, accompanied with 20-30 mph winds. Even though the sand didn't allow us to properly stake out the tent it still held up well.
A month of hard use and daily setup and takedown in less then ideal conditions allowed us a good chance to find out the tents strengths and weaknesses. In general, we really like the tent, especially the rain fly design, but had two problems. The rubber "handles" on the rain fly where it attaches to the corner clips came off two of the four corners, but it doesn't affect the performance. Another problem we had were with the end of the poles ripping holes through the sleeves when threading the poles. Perhaps the sleeve material could be heavier since it happened twice.
I also made a canvas bag to hold the tent. Bulk isn't a problem for our canoes, but stuffing a tent into a small bag while being attacked by thousands of bugs is a problem when paddling the Everglades, so I made the bag with a 13 1/2 inch diameter rather than the 11 1/2 inch diameter of the original bag.

    3. 5 STAR

I went camping with a group who had the Kelty Trail ridge 6 model tent for us to use. My adult granddaughter is in a wheelchair and just does a pivot transfer. We put a cot in one doorway and ran her power-chair up and pivot transferred her onto the cot. Zipped the tent up and used second access for myself and others. Only complaint is we had no fly that would keep the rain out as we were transferring her. Could fix this up with an overhead tarp. Not sure how safe it would be to run the chair inside of the tent but may try it one day.
As my granddaughter is an outdoor person we plan on purchasing this tent for our own personal use and do more camping, now we know she can do it again. Easy tent to put up and take down even for me in my 70's. Best tent I have used. We did lots of tent camping using 2 & 3 person tents prior to her injury, so this space was a new experience for us.
