There's a reason why the Redcloud has been in the Kelty line for years. A perfect blend of load carrying capacity, comfortable suspension, custom fit, simplified organization, and durable construction make this load hauler the only pack you'll need for extended backcountry adventures. PerfectFIT™ suspension is designed to be fully adjustable to fit your torso length and carry a heavy load, providing unmatched stability and comfort on the trail.
This large pack is super easy to load with the top loading design and sleeping bag compartment, but you won't have any issues finding what you need with the front-panel access and zippered side pockets. No need for an extra day pack - the lid of the pack also converts into a sling pack. Bonus! Hydration and snacks won't be an issue either with its hydration compatible design and hip belt pockets for small items. The LightBeam™ dual aluminum stays are connected to the hip belt providing direct load transfer while the anti-barreling stays keep the scapula pad flat--even if the pack is overloaded. The HDPE-reinforced, dual density waist belt improves load-support and enhances overall carrying comfort as well while the dual positions for load-lifters straps keeps the pack weight from shifting. Finally, the AirMesh shoulder straps, waist belt, and lumbar pad are designed to keep air moving through and keep you comfortable all day. Hip belt can be removed. For hikers who demand excellence and durability at an affordable price, the Redcloud 110 delivers.
These packs are well made and are suitable for the hiker looking for any extended backpacking trip. The features and rugged construction are a huge plus. Having said that however, the color selections are AWFUL! Kelty, please bring back the low key colors (Black, Forest Green, or Coyote Brown). On a personal note I would like to see Any of the Red cloud or Coyote pack series offered in CAMO ( Desert or Woodland either one). PLEASE take these suggestions to heart. Unknown on Jul 8th 2016
Everyone is hammering on the color and I don't get why? The pine color looks fine to me...
The pack is very comfortable although I haven't hit the trail yet..There's plenty of room for all of my gear & then some! I like the side access to main compartment and separate compartment for sleeping bag.
AWESOME PACK! no regrets.. Unknown on Jun 2nd 2016
I bought this pack about a month ago to go on a 13 mile overnight hike on the Appalachian Trail over Memorial Day weekend with five of my kids with an age range of 7 to 16. My 7, 11, and 13-year-olds all had small packs and my 15 and 16 year old would be helping carry gear for my brother-in-law and his son (they brought a HEAVY car camping tent) so I knew I needed something that could carry a lot of gear. I was able to carry two large bear vaults (one strapped to the bottom and the other inside the main compartment), a four man tent/rainfly/poles, a two man tent/rainfly/poles, two 60 degree sleeping bags, a campstove head and burner inside my cooking pots, an XL camp pillow, a blow-up air mattress, a change of clothes, a cpap machine/mask/battery, a water bottle, a rain poncho, and more! If you are a dad and need to pack some extra gear for your kids, this is the backpack for you!. I maybe had a little space where I could squeeze some more in, but I was pretty maxed out.
The pack fit comfortably and was very easy to adjust. I found that on our second day on the trail the load had shifted so I need to re-adjust the perfect fit and it was so nice to be able to adjust that while on my back.
I have two younger kids, too - I look forward to using this pack for many years to come. plaidpony on May 31st 2016
I purchased the older (Forest Green) version of the Red Cloud 110 yesterday on 5/11/2016. I frantically searched high and low for the older color/model and was excited to find 1 hanging around in the back stock area of a large hunting/fishing store. I'm a college student so I DON'T have money to throw around. If I'm going to spend 240+tax on a pack... I WANT TO PICK MY COLOR CHOICE PERIOD. I want a pack that is extremely low key in the woods... so Kelty... PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD COLORS!!!! (Black, Forest Green, Coyote Brown). I have the older Redwing 44 & 50 packs and purchased black, forest green, and coyote brown immediately on Amazon as soon as I saw the new 2016 neon bright colors!
Pros- Large capacity means more capabilities in the woods as long as you can carry the weight and volume. I hope to use this pack for winter camping so will definitely need the volume. Fit perfect and I'm a 5 ft 8 in male. Comfortable shoulder straps, and great organizational feature! I was torn between this and the coyote 80... but I'm so glad I decided to pony up the money and grab this pack due to its separate sleeping bag compartment (again great organization).
Cons- NONE YET (haven't tested on a long hike)- will update
Great value! I will take care of this pack and hope to get years of use in the wilderness/forests of Texas and Ontario, Canada! Thank you KELTY!!! Aspiring Mountain Man on May 12th 2016
Colors? You rugged outdoors-men are worried about the color?
LMAO, I care about the functionality, comfort, and durability. On those criteria the RedCloud is fully competitive with any pack on the market.
Throw in capacity and you've eliminated all but a few competitors.
Consider price and this pack stands alone.
Now for you folks more concerned with making a fashion statement for other guys you meet on the trail.....c'mon. I'll admit that I wanted the darker (forest green?) of the 2015 model but when I couldn't find one I ordered the 2016 Ponderosa Pine model. The forest green was a little darker including the straps and belt. So it was a little more low key. But after receiving my 2016 RedCloud 110 I realized that the Ponderosa Pine is a nice looking green and dark enough that a little trail grime won't show up that badly. Even the flourescent green belt and straps didn't bug me after I saw them.
But getting back to the stuff that matters, I've now hiked for a week with about 45 lbs in this pack and I have no complaints. It is comfortable. The features are well thought out. The materials seem rugged. And the "Perfect Fit" system couldn't be easier to use. I bought this pack so I didn't have to pack like a neurotic and it works very well for me. Russ on Apr 11th 2016
I won't buy this because of the horrible color choice. Which kind of pissed me off cause this is the pack I want. Unknown on Apr 4th 2016
I love the RedCloud 110 to outfit the teen troups. But the color choice as it is, is a bit ditzy in my opinion, especially when it comes to Scouts and backcountry hikers. Hot pink anyone?
Seriously Kelty designers, either add black, brown, and or Forest Green, or suffer the market drop. Trust me, the current color scheme stinks for pro hikers / travelors.
If I ever recommended this new pack to the troups, I may face criminal charges. Lol.
Please reconsider the color offering closely. It's highly unlikely that customers in the realm of multiday expeditions which this pack is highly respected for, will buy it. The colors aline make a huge difference.

I have been searching everywhere for this bag in an older model because I can't stand the one and only color option. They had much better colors in older models. So might not care but when you're building a bug out bag it's a bit more important. If you don't care about color it's a great bag with lots of storage and comfort. Unknown on Mar 29th 2016
